I am a scientist (industrial chemist) and have learned everything I need to know about solar energy and solar installations.
I have initiated a community energy group: www.cccommunityenergy.org which is focusing on mid scale solar PV installations.
And I am keen to foster and to promote solar energy uptake as I am convinced that renewable energy is our only technical solution to climate change.
Q: Please detail a MAXIMUM OF THREE relevant experiences that you could bring to the Solar Citizens team in your state. A: Co-ordinating the installation of 5 solar systems for family and friends.
Hosting a GetUp meeting to obtain campaigning issues.
Being a long time public sector union representative (now retired) and having some links with the union movement.
Q: Please explain your availability and capacity for involvement in the Solar Citizens team in your state. A: Depending on what I think about the SC strategies and plans I may be able to play an active role (a day or two per week).

Q: Please explain your availability and capacity for involvement in the Solar Citizens team in your state. A: I am retired and worked most of my life as an Environmental Scientist in the Electricity Industry. I have a very good understanding of energy issues and I fully understand the “games” played by some power generators.
Q: Please detail a MAXIMUM OF THREE relevant experiences that you could bring to the Solar Citizens team in your state. A: 1. GetUp Election Leader – rosters and supported a group of 32 volunteers across 4 polling booths. Organised all planning and logistics.
2. Paid employment involves program/project management tasks i.e. research, program development, implementation, communication, evaluation, liaising with stakeholders
3. Paid employment requires high level written communication and computer skills i.e. preparing reports, project plans etc
Q: Please explain your availability and capacity for involvement in the Solar Citizens team in your state. A: I do work full time, but have access to the internet. I think my time will be best used to do tasks outside of hours – research, word processing, advocacy etc. I would be available for meetings provided they are not during week day, day time hours.

A: I am currently engaged in action about noisy rail crossing equipment with a tiny group of neighbours. We have been successful in attracting media attention and exposure of our cause.
i am skilled in connecting the dots and understanding how disparate trends can affect each other; its part of my professional spectrum, together with good communication skills.
Q: Please explain your availability and capacity for involvement in the Solar Citizens team in your state. A: I am available for meeting on strategy where I can have some input; I can do, and have done on my own initiative, limited letter boxing and speaking with solar owners in my immediate area to make them aware of your initiatives.
