The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) has released a plan to allow solar homes and businesses to be charged for exporting solar to the grid - in effect, taxing the sun.
State energy ministers have the power to intervene and stop the sun tax. So far the Queensland and Victorian Governments have opposed the plan, but New South Wales Energy Minister Matt Kean has remained quiet.
