We're looking for volunteers to help with our stall and other activities at the upcoming Australian Labor Party's National Conference on the 24th-26th July at the Melbourne Conference & Exhibition Centre.
The ALP's National Conference is where they determine their policy platform, and so it's our next big opportunity to influence Australia's solar and clean energy future. We need the ALP to adopt ambitious solar policy and set a strong agenda before the next Federal election.
Solar Citizens will be holding a stall at the conference where we will:
- display a Tesla car and a Zero electric motorbike,
- hand out solar message cards to conference participants,
- sign people up to the Stand Up For Solar campaign, and
- take selfies with politicians and union members holding our "I'm Standing Up For Solar" sign, in support of the campaign.
Solar Citizens will also be involved in the conference in other ways, including presenting at the conference's Save Solar Forum, presenting on Labor Environment Action Network's (LEAN) panel about the environment and renewable energy, and collaborating with other organisations for the large climate change/renewable energy mobilisation outside.
We're looking for people to help out at our stall and other activities. The conference runs from 9:30am until 5:00pm on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July. Fill out the form below if you're keen to volunteer, and let us know when you will be available to help out.
Also let us know if you are a member of a union or the Labor party, as that will mean you can get a free pass.
