The Australian Energy Market Commission just released their draft rule change to allow solar households to be charged for exporting their cheap, clean energy to the grid. 

Write a letter to the editor below to publicly call out this unfair decision to tax the sun. 

Some points you might want to include in your letter:

• Rooftop solar benefits all energy consumers by providing cheap, local energy to the grid and bringing down wholesale power prices.
• It is unfair to charge solar homes and businesses when big coal and gas generators don't have to pay for pumping electricity into the network. 
• Solar households should be rewarded for the economic, environmental and health benefits they provide, especially as feed-in tariffs are dropping.
• We should be encouraging more rooftop solar - not penalising people who are trying to cut their energy bills and do their bit for the environment by putting panels on their roof.
