COP31 is a unique opportunity to shape Australia’s domestic and regional climate agenda while the global spotlight is on us.

Our campaign will secure a pledge from the federal government to double rooftop solar by 2035.

In the lead-up to COP31 next year, our campaign will build momentum around a credible, ambitious pathway to double rooftop solar and storage by 2035. Whilst other groups will be focused on building political pressure to phase out fossil fuels, we will be focused on scaling and implementing solutions to replace fossil fuels, enabling coal and gas to exit our energy grid.  We need to act now, double down on rooftop solar and storage, and Raise the Roof on climate ambition!

There’s a huge opportunity to scale up rooftop solar right now. Despite more than 4 million Australian homes having solar, an astounding 60% of Australians are still locked out - this includes renters and people who live in apartments. 

And there is a staggering 127GW of unrealised rooftop solar potential across the nation - that’s empty household roofs, big commercial and industrial buildings without solar and storage, and empty roofs on community buildings like schools and libraries.
