All we want for Christmas is a federal home battery rebate!

With the spectre of risky nuclear power a leading election issue, now is the time to urge the Albanese government to fill the home solar energy storage gap that will provide cost-of-living savings to all Australians and energy security - day and night - and save our solar from being switched off.

Australia leads the world in our uptake of rooftop solar panels with over 4 million households now enjoying the benefits of cheap, clean solar power, however only 250,000 Australians have been able to install a home battery. We need 1 million household solar batteries by 2030 to take pressure off the energy grid when the sun is beaming during the day, provide energy security to the grid and bringing down energy bills for everyone.

That's why we need a federal rebate for household batteries, delivered through the Small-Scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) that has been so successful in making Australia a leader in rooftop solar installations.

Can you send Jim Chalmers a Christmas message and tell him:

"All I want for Christmas is a Federal Home Battery Rebate?"
