100% Renewables

Sign the petition for 100% renewable power by 2030

South Australia is leading the nation in renewable energy with storage, despite inaction by politicians in Canberra. People power has played a big part in making this happen, whether it's the hundreds of thousands of South Australians putting solar on their roof or community wins like the new big solar thermal plant being built in Port Augusta.

An orderly transition to 100% renewable electricity is not only 100% doable, it will create a better, fairer and cheaper power system for all Australians. But our federal government has no plan for clean energy beyond 2020, and that's only a few years away.

That's why we made the Homegrown Power Plan. The plan - a joint project of Solar Citizens and GetUp! - shows how we can repower the country with 100% renewable power by 2030. How? By rebooting our failing electricity system, removing the road blocks holding us back and investing in the renewables boom.

Help show our political leaders there is support all over our sunburnt country for clean, renewable energy. Sign the petition calling on our representatives to commit to 100% renewable power by 2030, for our environment, our economy, our health and our future.

The Homegrown Power Plan shows that an orderly transition to 100% renewable power is not only 100% doable, it’s 100% better for our environment, our economy and our future.

We call on all Australian political parties to commit to the necessary and achievable goal of 100% renewable power by 2030 and to adopt the following policies that will help get us there:

  • Build big solar using national clean energy auctions
  • Create a national fair price for solar
  • Fund community renewable energy projects
  • Protect and expand the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
By signing this petition you give Solar Citizens permission to contact you with campaign updates.
