Federal Election 2019

Support Renewables this Federal Election

This federal election will determine the future of renewable energy in Australia

Australians are calling out for the rapid and responsible transition to fair dinkum, clean and affordable energy. But at the moment, our renewable energy industry is at risk. We still have no national energy policy to provide investor certainty and take the place of the Renewable Energy Target (RET) when it ends in 2020 – meaning that the renewables boom could slump by as much as 50% next year. This election gives Australia's 2 million+ solar owners, plus many more supporters, a chance to set things right.

This election, we are calling on all sides of politics to keep the renewables boom going in the next term of government by committing to:

Mandate solar on all new homes
A target should be set for all new (suitable) homes to be solar powered and battery storage ready from 2020. It's cheaper to install solar when a home is being constructed, so this policy will increase cost effectiveness and help consumers get the most out of cost-cutting solar technology.

A 5GW renewable storage target by 2025, including a rebate for 100,000 households to install batteries
A target to boost household uptake of battery storage, as well as grid-scale storage, will secure the grid and pave the way for a smart, renewable energy future.

Solar for 500,000 renters.
Schemes that help renters access rooftop solar will help thousands of households take back control of their electricity bills.
