Right now, when rooftop solar owners sell their excess power back to the grid they receive around 11c/kWh. But the retail companies on-sell this same electricity to a neighbour for up to 32c/kWh — that’s nearly three times the amount solar households get back!
That's why we're calling on state governments to put a stop to price gouging by retailers by legislating for a fair price for solar. A fair price should be mandatory and it should account for health and environmental benefits as well as network savings that solar provides for the whole community.
